Verse of the Day 10/24/2021

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. — Proverbs 9:10 (NIV)

A Letter To God

To my dearest Heavenly Father,

Where do I even begin? A simple thank you could never be enough to fully express how eternally grateful I am to You. Throughout my life you have always known my true heart even when I strayed away from Your guidance. You have protected me and saved me regardless of my recklessness or stupidity of the choices I have made.

Goodbye For Now

It was the first time that I’ve ever seen someone pass away right in front of my eyes. I was at my father-in-law’s bedside along with our family when he took his last breath. The color drained out of his body from his crown. He had sweat profusely and then turned cold in an instant. Then the nurse said that he was gone.

We can experience God’s refreshing by rehearsing what He has already said. We do not need new revelations or divine visions or new truths; we just need to remember the Old. We are a forgetful people, and we need to be reminded.

Presence Is Powerful

Presence is powerful.  John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

In the Center of Pride is “I”

The last three weeks of my life was an emotional roller coaster for me. I have found that as I get older, the crimson wave, a.k.a, a woman’s time of the month attack fiercely. At the beginning of every month, everyone around me seems to either annoy me, or hurt me, or both. I consider myself to be fairly thick-skinned most of my life. I usually do not let people get the best of me.

Financial Peace

It seemed far-fetched for my husband and me to feel peace about our personal finance at one point in our lives. When our household income was significantly reduced during the global financial crash of 2008, we continued on a standard of living we could no longer afford. We precariously operated in denial until we hit the wall. And I remember the feeling of defeat permeating, paralyzed by our circumstances.

Free Will

By: Elder Mike Agreen

In this season of Christmas, I find myself thinking of the many gifts with which God has blessed us. Of course, the ultimate gift of His Son, Jesus, comes to mind first, but there are many other gifts we are given, both as a community and on a more individual and personal nature.

Trusting In Him

by: Paola Ramos

I’m in the ICU, and alarms are ringing, there is beeping coming from all the monitors, I’m surrounded by unfamiliar faces, in an unfamiliar environment. There are four doctors, a physician’s assistant, two pharmacists, two respiratory therapists, and three nurses, standing in a half circle in front of me. They are all waiting for me, staring at me, or so it feels, and my heart feels like it’s going to beat out of my chest.
